In Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity’s (SigEp) 115 years of existence, it has established a strong brand, fully defined educational programs, an alumni tradition and a variety of other critical characteristics that ensure its longevity and growth. SigEp needed a powerful event brand to match the theme for the 55th Grand Chapter Conclave, Heroes. They wanted the theme to encourage brothers to become champions of change to alter the perception of what it means to be a fraternity man. I partnered with SigEp’s Marketing and Communications Director and the Rhyme & Reason design team to create a simple “SigEp Heroes” logo. A simplified primary logo allowed attendees to determine their own definition of what it means to be a hero, rather than dictating its meaning. A fun geometric grid pattern carried the fraternity’s color palette and highlighted event specifics. This pattern was carried through all convention materials, including programs, name tags, table centerpieces, directional signage and an impressive branded ballroom entrance. As the Account Executive for this project, I guided our client through the design and revision process, with the end goal of creating a dramatic meeting aesthetic.
